General Policy Statement:
E & A Credit Union is committed to protecting the privacy of our members, and nonmember visitors. In general, you can visit us on the World Wide Web without disclosing to us who you are or revealing any information about yourself. There are several areas, however, that will collect certain information about you and this statement will disclose how we handle that information. Please note that our policies and procedures for handling member information have been created with the understanding that Internet technologies are still evolving and that Internet business methods are continuing to evolve as changing technologies arise. As a result, these policies and procedures are subject to change. Notwithstanding, it is the intent of the credit union to abide by all applicable laws and regulations governing privacy, including but not limited to National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Regulation 716 (Privacy of Consumer Financial Information.
Guidelines:
1. Notice of Information Collection: If you visit our website, www.eacu.org, E&A Credit Union collects and stores information on your browser type, operating system, IP address and the domain from which you came to our website as well as the date and time of your visit. In addition, we also collect information about your browsing behavior at this site. We do not collect any personally identifiable information, except in the following circumstances:
a. If you send an email, E&A Credit Union collects and stores personally identifying information in order to process your email, form or application. This information is not sold to any third parties. Due to the volume of email activity, these messages are deleted after they are answered or completed, usually within a ninety-day period.
b. If you visit a secure site, such as internet banking, you will be asked for a personal identification number (PIN) which will give you access to the member-only section of our website. This information enables E & A Credit Union to regulate entry to the member-only portions of our website and to measure member usage. The only information we collect is your email address, which you can see and edit in the banking application. Any information gathered is not sold to third parties. Additionally, we provide only select employees with clearance to access this secure message center.
c. If you link to another site from any of our pages, you are leaving our site pages, and we cannot be held responsible for any information that may be gathered at a linked site. We take strides to ensure that all linked sites follow similar privacy policies as ours to offer you maximum security and privacy.
This information is used to measure the number of visitors to the various pages on our site to better serve our membership, or to comply with a state or federal law or regulation.
2. Method of Collection: Any information that we collect is not stored on your computer with a cookie. We do not use cookies on our server to collect or store personally identifiable information about you. However, from time to time, a cookie is used to track information regarding your interaction preferences with our website, and allows our website to be customized to meet your interests. These circumstances are temporary, such as a pop-up window, or survey, and any cookie used will be obsolete in a six-month period or less. Any information that we collect and store using cookies is solely for internal use and will not be sold, rented or leased, exchanged, or given to other third parties, except for those who manage our internet website.
3. Responsibility of Third Parties: E&A Credit Union selects its service partners with due diligence and care. If the credit union will share information with a service partner, such service partner will only be approved if it has established privacy policies that are consistent with the privacy policies of EACU and the laws and regulations governing privacy. Where appropriate, we will protect nonpublic personal information through contractual provisions that prohibit service partners from using information for any other purpose that that for which the credit union provided the information to the service partner. E&A will consult with legal counsel to assure contracts it enters are in compliance with the laws and regulations governing privacy.
4. Member Access: This site strives to provide you with the maximum amount of access to the information that we have about you. However, since we do not store any personally identifiable information about you, we have no way to verify your identity in order to release data to you. However, if you have logged into a secure socket layer (SSL), such as Internet banking, we can then verify your identity and provide you access to your data. Please provide us with a written request for your information as well as your login information so we may retrieve the data. All requests will be handled within a ninety-day period.
5. Maintenance of Information: The credit union takes reasonable steps and will implement procedures to assure that the member information it gathers is accurate and maintained in a manner to assure its accuracy. In the event inaccurate information is discovered, the credit union will correct the inaccuracy as promptly as possible.
6. Member Choice: This website uses cookies on a limited basis for special offers or data collection on our website. However, you may prevent the placement of cookies on your computer by setting the Preferences or Internet Options of your browser to reject cookies or you may send us written notification of your desire to opt-out of cookie placement. If you do not allow cookies to be placed on your computer, this website will not recognize you’ve visited in the past and will treat each visit as your first. Written submissions will be resolved within a ninety-day period.
7. Security of Information: EACU takes every precaution to safeguard our membership and their information. And since we do not store personally identifiable information, we minimize the risk of illegitimate use of our member information. However, it is important to recognize that any transmission you make on the Internet is not completely secure.
8. Policy Changes: We will post any substantial changes in this privacy policy at least 30 days prior to the change taking effect. Any information collected under this current policy will remain bound by the terms of this privacy policy. After the changes take effect, all new information collected, if any, will be subject to the revised privacy policy.
