Assistant Manager of Lending

Job Functions:

The most essential function of this position is to provide a means to a better financial way of life for our members.  This mission is accomplished by delivering outstanding service by meeting all service standards and following the service promises established by the Credit Union.

The Assistant Manager of Lending position also has the following responsibilities:

  • Expert knowledge in the areas of underwriting, funding and post closing loans.
  • Leads by example, effectively uses and improves E&A’s operating procedures and demonstrates knowledge of E&A’s lending policy.
  • Advises Manager of Support on key areas that will help increase operational efficiencies, decrease operational expenses and promote excellent service.
  • Effectively coaches staff to determine willingness and ability to perform assigned tasks.
  • Provides effective delegation among all employees in the department to develop cooperation and team cohesion in order to provide high quality and prompt service.
  • Accomplishes financial objectives by assisting Manager of Support in: preparation of the annual budget, analysis of variances and streamlining processes to find additional efficiencies.
  • Implements department-specific goals as set by department management.
  • Assists with overseeing all lending-related programs and materials including third-party affiliations and indirect network.
  • Ensures consistency throughout all department functions by monitoring employee usage of standard operating procedures in all areas of responsibility and providing training on the standard operating procedures.
  • Actively participates as a team player and effectively contributes to the overall success of the department.
  • Attends regular peer-level team meetings to discuss, plan, forecast, create and implement departmental objectives/strategic goals.

Essential Skills, Training & Preparation:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Finance, Business Administration, or other related field and/or
    two to four years of increasingly responsible experience in lending and/or finance functions within a financial institution.
  • Demonstrates a high level of analytical skill: to assess and evaluate various aspects of the credit union’s support service areas; assists with preparing reports for the Managers and Executive Team; collaborates with credit union auditors; and assists credit union staff at all levels with operating needs and solving practical problems.
  • Displays a high level of reasoning, mathematical and language ability.
    Ability to work in a team to collaborate with sales staff and peers for the success of the credit union.
  • Utilizes a high level of effective interpersonal skills to communicate policies, procedures and objectives to employees at all levels and to represent the credit union to outside vendors in the community.

Assistant Manager of Product Support

Job Functions:

  • Expert knowledge in the areas of member accounting, plastic cards and ATMs.
    Responsible for coaching and training staff on effective sales and service techniques to improve members’ financial lives.
  • Responsible for establishing, monitoring and supervising staff monthly sales and service goals.
  • Holds staff accountable for achieving monthly sales and service goals.
  • Leads by example, effectively uses and improves E&A’s operating procedures.
  • Advises Manager of Support on key areas that will help increase operational efficiencies, decrease operational expenses and promote excellent service.

Part-Time Teller

Job Functions:

The most essential function of this position is to provide a means to a better financial way of life for our members.  This mission is accomplished by delivering outstanding service by meeting all service standards and following the service promises established by the Credit Union.  The teller position also has the following responsibilities:  

  • Developing member relationships, anticipating and identifying members’ needs and educating members on how the Credit Union’s products and services will meet those needs.
  • Performing routine member transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, cash advances, loan payments, check cashing, etc.
  • Actively cross selling the Credit Union’s services by determining and satisfying member needs.
  • Meeting established sales goals on a monthly basis.
  • Consulting with members to obtain information and explain available financial services. 
  • Performing a variety of internal documentation and balancing activities consistent with Credit Union standards and guidelines, including daily cash drawer management, miscellaneous receipt and disbursement transactions, general ledger account record keeping, etc.

Essential Skills, Training & Preparation:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Six to twelve months on the job experience as a teller or in a customer service and sales environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively determine members’ needs and resolve problems in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
  • Knowledge of how to operate a PC and other standard office equipment, such as a calculator, photocopier, ATM, fax machine, on-line printer and authorized check signer.
  • Ability to work Fridays and Saturdays
